Bland, Virginia ace Kenny Compton, Jr. traveled to the Beckley
Motorsports Park in Beckley, West Virginia on Friday night,
May 11 to compete in an $800 to win Open Wheel Modified
program. Kenny laid down the quickest lap during qualifying,
won his heat race, and later started the A-Main from the
pole position. Kenny then led the opening laps of the main
event before being sent to the tail of the field twice on
questionable calls by race officials. Each time, Kenny stormed
back to the front, eventually salvaging a third place performance
behind only winner Kenny Wallace and runner-up Robert Garnes.

MAY 7, 2012
The KC Racing team ventured to the Volunteer State of Tennessee
on May 4-5 for a pair of $1,500 to win Limited Late Model
showdowns. On Friday night at the Smoky Mountain Speedway
in Maryville, Tennessee, Kenny Compton, Jr. laid down the
quickest lap during the qualifying session to earn the pole
position for the main event. The Bland, Virginia ace then
led flag-to-flag in the 35-lapper to claim the $1,500 top
prize over Bobby Giffin, Jason Trammell, Mack McCarter,
and Brad Lowe!
Kenny then set his sights on the 411 Motor Speedway in
Seymour, Tennessee on Saturday evening. After starting towards
the back in the A-Main, Kenny pointed his #10 mount towards
the front of the field. Aiming for not only $1,500 winner's
check, but also for the high-point bonus money for the two-day
weekend, Kenny climbed well inside of the top ten and was
looking to pick up more spots. In a very controversial move,
race officials then inexplicably black-flagged Kenny for
"not laying over for the leader." The decision
cost him a strong finish, possible bonus money, and relegated
him to a very disappointing fifteenth place effort. Full
